This is a 100% hand painted drawing of a Devil Dancer with a Cobra Demon ( Naga Raksha) mask, who dances in traditional tovil ceremony in ancient Sri Lanka.
The “Devil Dances” are an attempt to respond to the common belief that certain ailments are caused by unseen hands and that they should be chased away for the patient to get cured. If an individual or a family is not doing well, the village-folk believe that it’s because that person or the family is being harassed by unseen hands. They believed a ‘tovil’ ceremony is the answer for that.
This drawing does not contain a frame, since it is difficult to ship with a frame and also to carryout by own. You may use a suitable frame depend on the place/purpose you are going to use it. This is very eco-friendly and unique hand painted drawing of Sri Lanka. This wall decoration will add more prestige to your living/bed room as well as a valuable gift, souvenir for you.
